Kenyan Lawrence Kabuthi and others bring their experiences to SIT’s CONTACT program

Among the students in this year’s CONTACT program at SIT, you’ll find Kenyan Lawrence Kabuthi. He’s participating in part thanks to a longtime collaboration between Guilford, Vermont’s Community Church and the village of Kaiguchu, Kenya. Churchmembers have traveled to Kenya to assist the village in several ways, and Kabuthi is part of their efforts as manager of a school for orphans partially supported by the church.

As participants in CONTACT, Lawrence and others will learn from each other as well as instructors in an intensive experiential learning format. Trainings are led by a diverse group of internationally recognized faculty with years of applied, classroom, and research experience. Typically, peacebuilders from over twenty-five countries participate in the program.
