Mersea Boku, CPA and MBA

Mersea Boku is a seasoned finance executive with more than 18 years of experience in global financial management, systems implementation, and regulatory compliance. He leads financial initiatives across continents, driving systems innovation, ensuring regulatory compliance, and advancing strategic financial planning for World Learning. Before becoming acting CFO, he served as World Learning’s controller. In both capacities, Boku has overseen the implementation of core financial systems and Sage Intacct and developed custom tools to enhance budgeting, payroll, risk management, and audit processes.

Prior to joining World Learning, Boku held finance roles at the Welfare for the Street Mothers and Children Organization and Ethiopian Shipping Lines. He also served for two years as a lecturer in the Faculty of Business at St. Mary’s University.
