Yudhistira Kazuhiro Budiono (Kazu), MA
Kazu holds a master’s degree in philosophy from the University of Amsterdam. Born in a village in Java and raised amidst the developing melting pot of Bali, he has actively contributed to communities and organizations promoting education to local children, sustainability to farmers, and conservation more broadly.
He completed his bachelor’s degree in philosophy from the University of California, Berkeley. While studying in the U.S., he played an active role in the International Student Ambassador Program and Berkeley Indonesian Student Association, supporting fellow international students by providing cultural insights, assisting with orientation, and fostering a welcoming environment. For his master’s thesis, he tackled the topic of consciousness, raising challenges to the Cartesian mind-body dichotomy.
Previously, he worked for SIT Study Abroad Indonesia as the program assistant, lecturing on topics ranging from religion in Indonesia to courses on field methods and ethics. Recently, he has become an active member of his community and of a permaculture organization in the Badung region advocating for permaculture practices and sustainable living. He strives for life-long learning and global education through increased cross-cultural exchanges to enhance our understanding of the world and of one another.
