Trina Lawrence grew up near Chicago, Illinois and went to Minnesota State University for her BA in English and Scandinavian Studies. During her undergraduate career, she studied abroad in Norway. After graduating with her BA, she attended Northern Arizona University and received her Masters of Education in Counseling and Student Affairs. During her time at NAU, she interned with the Center for International Education and co-taught a class for incoming international students. She chose to work specifically with NAU’s international student population to complete her counseling practicum hours for her graduate degree. After graduating from NAU, she worked in higher education in Maine for four years at the University of Maine before heading to Ohio for the next two years – working as a Hall Director up to the Assistant Director of Residential Life. She’s been lucky enough to work in higher education and international education at a multitude of Colleges/Universities for the past nine years.
