Shamim Akhtar, MD

A resident of New Delhi, Dr. Shamim Akhtar is an expert in respiratory and critical care medicine. He possesses enormous proficiency in interventional pulmonology and sleep medicine. Dr. Akhtar has an MD in respiratory medicine. He is a fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians and an esteemed member of a host of medical institutions with national and global repute, including the European Respiratory Society, the National College of Chest Physicians, the Indian Medical Association and South East Association of Allergy, the Asthma and Applied Immunology, among others. Presently, Dr. Akhtar serves as a senior consultant and head of the Department of Respiratory Medicine at St. Stephen’s Hospital in Delhi. He has been involved with several clinical trials and research on tuberculosis.
