Sadie Ainsworth

Sadie Ainsworth is a master’s student at the University Centre of the Westfjords studying Coastal and Marine Resource Management. Sadie’s current research aims to understand the genetic diversity of sea age maturity of Atlantic salmon populations around Iceland. Before Iceland, Sadie researched Cutthroat trout in Yellowstone National Park, co-created an outdoor used gear store in Missoula, Montana, and created a science communication card game during her bachelor’s at Quest University Canada. In her free time, Sadie enjoys exploring the Westfjords. She has extensive experience working and playing in the backcountry, including wilderness first aid. Sadie is excited to be part of SIT Iceland as the program assistant to help foster place-based learning and an interdisciplinary learning environment.
