Jelena Lončar, PhD
Jelena Lončar holds a PhD in politics from the University of York, UK. She received her MA of research in politics from the University of York and her MA in political analysis and management from the University of Belgrade, Faculty of Political Science. She has a BA in international relations. Her research interests include political representation, gender and politics, ethnic politics, and civil society. In recent years, her research has focused on the performance of political representation and the performativity of representative claims. She writes extensively about the representation of women and ethnic minorities and autocratization trends in Southeast Europe. Dr. Lončar works as an associate professor at the University of Belgrade, Faculty of Political Science, where she teaches political sociology courses. She also teaches in the SIT Study Abroad program Belgrade, Budapest, and Vienna: Comparative European Perspectives on Conflict & Democracy.
