Gillian Wigton Bell, MA

Gillian came to SIT as a Custom Programs Manager in September 2021. Gillian is an alum of SIT Study Abroad (Fiji: Multiculturalism and Social Change) and SIT Graduate Institute in Brattleboro, VT, where she earned a Master’s in International Education. She completed her Bachelor’s in Anthropology and Nonviolence & Peace Studies at the University of Rhode Island. Her career has included work in the US, Switzerland, Fiji, and Nepal as a teacher, leader, and coordinator of global programs. Prior to joining SIT, Gillian was the Global Engagement Specialist at Rhode Island School of Design, managing a diverse portfolio of faculty-led and semester-long programming. Previously she also worked in support of the Department of State J-1 Work & Travel Program at CIEE in Portland, Maine. She is currently based in Providence, Rhode Island, not far from her hometown. On the Custom Programs team, Gillian manages a global portfolio that includes both virtual and immersive custom and faculty-led programs, internships, Global Curriculum Enhancements, and professional engagement programs.
