Emilie Shaver serves as the student safety and security manager within Student Health, Safety, and Wellbeing and has spent the last decade working in crisis management and behavioral intervention in higher education. During her graduate work, she studied abroad in Italy with a targeted focus on adventure-based counseling in various cultural contexts. Additionally, Shaver has served as an AmeriCorps member through the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) working with various nonprofits and populations to advocate for students, community members, and organizations impacting change.

Shaver is a member of the Association for Student Conduct Administration (ASCA), Pulse International, the Overseas Security Advisory Council (OSAC), and has completed individual as well as group crisis intervention trainings through the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation (ICISF).

As an avid and passionate traveler, she has visited more than 20 different countries and has language competency in Italian and French.
