Ebony Westman, MA

As program coordinator, Ebony is responsible for the smooth running of the SIT Netherlands semester program. Her responsibilities include building the program calendar, co-designing and delivering the Morocco excursion, organizing complementary guest lectures and site visits with NGOs and speakers based in the Netherlands, and providing health, safety and wellbeing support to students. Ebony works closely with the academic director to co-deliver the Research Methods and Ethics course and provides other academic support as required.

Ebony is originally from Australia and holds an MA in gender studies from Utrecht University, and an MA in development studies, specializing in peace and conflict studies, from the International Institute of Social Studies in the Hague. Prior to joining SIT, Ebony worked across grassroots education, NGOs, and state government on gender equality initiatives focusing on sexual reproductive health and rights, prevention and response to gender-based/domestic violence, and menstrual equity.
