Cheryl Pennie Williams has more than 15 years’ experience in higher education and student affairs. Prior to joining SIT, she worked as the lead social worker with several nonprofit and government organizations supporting at-risk students and families and managed a crisis center. In her current role as student accessibility manager, Pennie Williams directly supports students with diverse accessibility needs in SIT global programs and brings an innovative and inclusive approach to implementing accommodations.

Pennie Williams is a member of Pulse International and the Overseas Security Advisory Council (OSAC) and holds a bachelor’s degree in social work, a master’s in management information systems from Pace University, and a second master’s in social policy and planning, with a concentration in health, welfare, and urban/rural development from the London School of Economics. Pennie Williams considers herself a “lifelong learner” and a passionate traveler who has visited over 30 countries and has lived and studied abroad in the Caribbean and the United Kingdom. She is committed to ensuring that eligible students have equitable access, a sense of belonging, and comprehensive support services in all SIT communities.
