Allison Randall

Allison Randall is a master’s student at the University Centre of the Westfjords studying coastal and marine resource management. Her current research investigates grey gurnard habitat occupancy in Iceland, comparing demersal and pelagic fish using data from the Marine and Freshwater Research Institute to examine differences in diet, otolith morphology, and reproductive biology. Before Iceland, Allison researched salt marsh dynamics in response to climate change in Nova Scotia, Canada. She has experience in Arctic environments, including a semester abroad in Northern Norway studying aquaculture and marine biosciences. Allison is excited to join SIT Iceland as a program assistant, where she hopes to share her passion for the Westfjords, connect students with the local environment and community, and help create meaningful, hands-on learning experiences.
