Ahmed AbdulMageed

Ahmed AbdulMageed is SIT Amsterdam’s office coordinator where he is responsible for overseeing logistical and financial processes. He also moonlights as the resident chef and prepares student lunches twice a week. Originally from Egypt, Ahmed has lived and studied abroad in Armenia, Italy, the Netherlands, and the U.S. He holds an MA in media studies from the University of Amsterdam with a specialization in the preservation and presentation of the moving image. He obtained a BA from St. Olaf College, double majoring in film and media studies and Russian area studies. His interests lie in dispossessed and marginalized cultural reproduction, heritage, and archives. Alongside his work at SIT, Ahmed is also the film programs coordinator at Mizna, a Minnesota-based arts and culture organization centering the work of SWANA/Arab filmmakers and writers.
