Ian O’Brien, MBA

Ian O’Brien, SIT’s director of security, has more than 20 years of operations and security management experience with a focus on designing field operations policies and security protocols. His background includes working with international development and international education organizations on programs all over the world, including in central and subcontinental Asia, eastern Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. Ian has lived and worked in central Asia and southern Africa and has managed projects in high-risk environments including Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Lebanon. He is a Certified Protection Professional (CPP®).
