Wil Burns, PhD

Wil Burns is the co-director of the Institute for Carbon Removal Law and Policy at American University’s School of International Service and senior fellow at the Centre for International Governance Innovation. He also serves as the co-chair of the International Environmental Law section of the American branch of the International Law Association. He has published more than 80 articles and edited four books. His research focuses on climate geoengineering, the European Union’s emissions trading system, and the Paris Agreement.
