Utsuk Datta, MD

Dr. Utsuk Datta is a physician with an MD in community medicine and is recognized as public health expert in India. He served on the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), one of the premier public health research institutes in India. He then spent 28 years as a senior faculty member in the National Institute of Health and Family Welfare (NIHFW), the apex institute of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare of India, where he was responsible for training and teaching public health professionals, research, policy development, and advocacy in the field of public health. Currently, he is working as a consultant epidemiologist for the National Center for Disease Control (NCDC) in India. He has been connected to various international organizations including Nuffield Institute of International Health in the UK, the Harvard University School of Public Health and the Johns Hopkins University School of Public Health in the US, World Bank Institute, and the World Health Organization (WHO).
