Mina Laabadel, MA
Mina is from Oulad Teima, a city in the Taroudannt province of Morocco. She graduated from the University of Ibn Zohr, Agadir, in 2013, with a B.A in English studies and majored in literature. She also holds a masters in communications and marketing from the Institute for Leadership and Communication Studies (ILCS), where she was the assistant at the ‘I study abroad’ department from 2016-17, working with many international volunteers and students. She joined Thaqafat Association and the Center for Cross-Cultural Learning in Rabat in 2018, holding the role of program assistant. Since that time she has worked with SIT, collaborating closely with the academic director on managerial aspects of the program, as well as with students on all issues pertaining to their daily needs and logistics. After graduating from university, she was a volunteer with an international NGO called CorpsAfrica, serving in a remote village for a full year. She launched projects in the village, providing the school latrine with water, planting projects and doing other activities with kids and students in the village. Before joining CorpsAfrica in 2015, she worked with Peace Corps volunteers in facilitating camps at the Dar Chabab in Oulad Teima, and at the Glow camps in Tafraoute. In addition to these, she has worked as an executive assistant at the Al Insaf Association in Oulad Teima, which helps vulnerable women and children in difficult situations reclaim their rights after experiencing neglectful backgrounds and conditions. Finally, she was a member in Ibtisama Association and the linguistic club in Oulad Teima.
