Maren Haas, MA

After studying biology in undergrad, Maren’s career path took a turn to international education. She spent two years teaching math in Burkina Faso with the Peace Corps. This also included collaborating on a national science camp and developing a school library and women’s and girls’ empowerment projects. Next, Maren headed for the wilderness of Wyoming to work for the National Outdoor Leadership School, supporting custom backcountry programs. In 2016 Maren earned a master’s in international education management from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies, where she participated in the Peace Corps Coverdell and Intercultural Digital Storytelling Fellowship programs. During grad school, she led Babson College’s BRIC program, traveling with students for a semester across Russia, China, and India. Most recently, Maren worked as an international programs advisor at the University of Michigan, helping engineering students find international opportunities.
