Commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
The School for International Training views diversity as one’s social identities as well as an outcome of equity and inclusion. We strive to understand and actively respond to the ways in which our society and institution act in opposition to these values of equity and inclusion while recognizing that identity is constantly shifting as are the structures of power and privilege in today’s world. Therefore, we are committed to hiring qualified, sensitive, and experienced staff and faculty and providing effective training and teaching to ensure true inclusion in the broadest sense. At SIT, our work for diversity, equity, and inclusion seeks to uncover, address, and account for the historical legacies, social symbols, and institutional practices that lead to the implicit and explicit marginalization and exclusion of groups and individuals from full access to the resources we offer as an institution of higher education.
