“This program greatly benefited from location and the opportunities available in Geneva - by far the most educational part of the program were the briefings by different agencies and organizations. Being able to hear and speak with different officials was excellent and very informative.”

Study the major challenges facing the contemporary international system, including conflict resolution and prevention, peace, and development, in the international hub of Geneva.
International affairs are increasingly complex. In order to comprehend this complexity, it is necessary to examine the growing number of non-state actors, the transformation of sovereignty, rapid technological changes, transformation of armed conflicts, geo-economic rivalries, identity conflicts, resource scarcity, and tensions related to contradictory trends of globalization.
Based in Geneva, this program provides a thorough background in international studies. Students examine the political, economic, security, strategic, and environmental dimensions of the rapidly evolving international system in the context of globalization. The program focuses on the strategies of international, supranational, and nongovernmental organizations in addressing current challenges to peace, stability, and sustainable development.
Key topics of study include:
- Multilateral diplomacy
- The UN system
- Human rights and migration
- International security
- Geopolitics
- Politics of the European Union
- Nongovernmental organizations
- Development and social justice
- Environmental issues
Throughout the program, students attend lectures and conduct interactive research at international organizations, research centers, and NGOs. In the latter half of the program, students complete an independent study project.
Students live with a Swiss or international family outside of Geneva in a small city, town, or village.
