SIT Study Abroad Launches New Emphasis on
Critical Global Issues
New program titles for Spring 2010
Building upon SIT's longstanding focus on important global issues, SIT Study Abroad has launched a new framework to better reflect the content of our programs. The new framework does not represent a major change in our curriculum but rather a clearer presentation of SIT programs that address vital issues shaping local communities around the globe. SIT programs are now categorized under one of the following areas:
- Global Health
- Identity and Globalization
- Natural Resource Management, Biodiversity, and Environmental Policy
- Post-Conflict Transformation
- Social Movements, Education, and Human Rights
- Sustainable Development
These changes have resulted in many updated program titles, which are now displayed on each program's overview page on the SIT Study Abroad website. The program's former title is listed immediately below the new title. Please note that the new titles will be applicable for Spring 2010 programs and will appear on student transcripts beginning that semester.
