Summer Master of Arts in TESOL
For the professional already teaching English as a second language (TESOL/TEFL/ESL/ESOL/ELT), SIT offers a summer Master of Arts program that reduces students’ time away from home and work. The program includes an eight-week semester on the SIT campus, from mid-June to mid-August, for two consecutive summers. Following the first summer, students return to their classrooms and begin to practice what they have learned; they also host an SIT supervisor during the year and work online with their SIT peers. During the second summer, students examine the previous year’s teaching in close and meaningful ways. A final thesis deepens competencies in an area of the student’s choosing.
