Your Next Steps

To ensure your place in the upcoming class at SIT, you will need to complete the following steps. If you have any questions, please contact your Admissions Counselor directly or admissions@sit.edu

Deadlines

Semester I-20 Deadline Financial Aid
Fall 2012 July 15, 2012 Students must submit their enrollment deposit within 2 weeks of financial aid award notification.
Spring 2013 November 15, 2012 Students must submit their enrollment deposit within 2 weeks of financial aid award notification.

Financial Aid
If you have not yet applied for financial aid, this is an important next step.  If you do not intend to apply for financial aid, please notify your Admissions Counselor directly or contact admissions@sit.edu.

Financial Aid applications and instructions:

Submitting Your Deposit
For US Citizens and Permanent Residents

To secure your place in the incoming class, you must complete and return the Enrollment Form (PDF) with your $400 non-refundable deposit payment within two weeks of your financial award notification.

Students not applying for/receiving financial aid:  Please deposit on or before May 4, 2012 for the fall 2012 semester, and December 15, 2012 for the spring 2013 semester.

Submitting Your Deposit
For International Students

Because international students must pay their first semester tuition and fees as part of their student visa process, SIT does not require the $400 deposit payment for international students. International students should review the information concerning student visas and focus their efforts on completing the necessary steps to obtain their I-20 and student visa.

After You Have Reserved Your Place

Once you have submitted your enrollment form and deposit payment (US students and Permanent Residents only), you should begin completing the other necessary forms listed below. Please note that these forms will not be processed until your deposit payment is received or, for international students, until you have completed the required steps to obtain your I-20 form.

Medical Clearance

If you received your undergraduate degree from a university outside of the US, you must submit a copy of your immunization record. Please complete and return the following form to Cheryl Pennie Williams, Student Health Administrator at meds@sit.edu or fax to 802-258-3296:

Please be aware that students will not be allowed on campus or to register for or attend classes without medical clearance.

If you attended undergraduate college or university in the US, you do not need to submit an immunization record to SIT.

Housing Forms
Required for all Vermont campus students:

On-Campus Housing
For students who wish to live on-campus, the Housing Deposit form and $100 deposit payment are required.

Resident Advisor (RA) Positions
The Resident Advisor (RA) is a para-professional student leader. RAs, under the guidance of the Student Activities & Residence Life Office, are collectively responsible for assisting in the creation and maintenance of a close-knit community on campus.

As of March 21, 2012, SIT is still accepting RA applications from MA in TESOL students for the 2012-2013 academic year. However, SIT is no longer accepting RA applications from students in other programs.
