Master of Global Management in the Sultanate of Oman

Gain the skills and mindset of an effective and responsible global leader while studying in the dynamic international crossroads of Oman.

The Master of Global Management in the Sultanate of Oman program offers a unique opportunity to develop global management expertise applicable to leadership roles in multiple international sectors. World Learning’s educational center in the international crossroads of Oman provides a culturally rich and academically engaging context for exploring first-hand the dynamics of the global marketplace.

The program's field-based approach allows students to:

  • Immerse themselves fully in the culture
Oman has preserved its local culture and traditions. Oman is also the only country in the Middle East to rank high on the University of Sydney's Global Peace Index. No other degree that we know of brings Western students and Omanis into the same classroom at the graduate level and helps them develop not only management skills, but also cross-cultural and "people" skills that can be applied in any country or career.

  • Study Arabic language
In Oman, the national tendency to welcome visitors with open arms is still the rule.  It is also a great place to study Arabic (a component of the degree), as Omanis are incredibly tolerant of the many mistakes we language learners always make.  And, increasingly, there is a critical need for Westerners with Arabic language proficiency in both the public and private sectors.

  • Earn a graduate degree and gain professional experience with an international organization in just 12 months
This is a 12-month degree that includes a professional internship with an Omani organization in the petroleum industry, with the Omani Government, with public-private ventures and development projects, in the private sector, with civil society initiatives or with an educational institution.  That means that in just one year, you can both earn your master’s degree and acquire substantial international professional experience and Arabic language skills.

The MGM curriculum, taught by a world-class faculty drawn from the US, the Gulf Region, and other countries, presents a well-rounded and balanced approach to managing 21st century organizations. It provides opportunities for students to develop a solid foundation in a number of functional specialties while examining the nature of globalization and its implications for the effective and responsible management of people and organizations in an increasingly interconnected world. The program culminates with a Capstone Project in which teams of students apply their learning within Omani organizations.
