Master of Arts in Social Justice in Intercultural Relations

"Enrolling in this program was the best educational decision I ever made... Through the Social Justice in Intercultural Relations degree, I began exploring my values and life experiences – specifically social oppression and immigration issues. I now see the world as much more complex, but I also see more opportunity to engage in transformative work."

-- Rita Brown, Dartmouth College, Office of Institutional Diversity and Equity

SIT's Social Justice in Intercultural Relations degree responds to the growing need for professionals who can effectively act on issues of social justice and equity in intercultural and cross cultural settings.

Students are asked to examine their own social identities and historical and contemporary social, cultural, economic and political system at the interpersonal, community, organizational, societal and global levels.

Graduates possess the comprehensive intercultural skills and awareness they need to work for greater social justice through professional roles as facilitators, advisors, trainers, educators, curriculum developers, organizational consultants, outreach workers, organizers, managers, program planners and evaluators. They work in a wide range of contexts such as education, nonprofit organizations, governmental and nongovernmental agencies, and in diverse communities.
