International Education Workshops

The International Education workshops are open to all International Education professionals and offer the option to earn graduate credit toward an SIT Master’s degree or Graduate Certificate. Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are also available for education professionals.

Taught by SIT core faculty and other experienced practitioners in the field of International Education, the workshops are an invaluable opportunity for professionals to expand their competencies and engage in a multi-dimensional review of specific issues.

Public Diplomacy and Citizen Diplomacy

January 9-11, 2009

"Educational and cultural exchange":  What does that mean to government agencies, the private sector and to NGOs working toward this common purpose?

This workshop will examine what that purpose is and how, in practice, different organizations work together on it. Offered in collaboration between the SIT Graduate Institute and World Learning's Visitor Exchange Program (1015 18th Street, NW), the workshop will have a strong practical focus for students considering careers or already engaged in the field of International Education. The workshop will begin in the afternoon (2:00 pm) on Friday, January 9 and will conclude by noon on Sunday, January 11, 2009.

  • Tuition: $500 (includes coffee/tea breaks and Saturday lunch)
