Student Life: International Students
International Students of Academic Programs
International Students of Academic Programs (ISAP), SIT's international student organization, was established in 1997 in an effort to address the special needs and concerns of international students and to provide them an opportunity to deepen their involvement with the SIT campus and local community. All international students can get involved in the ISAP programs in any way they like during the academic year.
Activities and Events
ISAP works closely with other SIT offices such as the Student Activities Office and the Language and Culture Department to plan many events that highlight the rich cultural diversity of the SIT campus.
Examples:
- Geography Series. International students offer presentations on their home country and culture.
- Visitors in Classroom in the Brattleboro Community. The International Student and Scholar Office coordinates a visitor program in which SIT students visit local schools and organizations to make presentations about life in various foreign countries. These visits have proven to be well received in the community and enjoyable educational experiences for the "visitor".
- Multicultural Talent & Fashion Show
- International Music Dance Party
- Field trips to Vermont apple orchards, Ben & Jerry's, etc.
