How to Apply for Aid
The Financial Aid application is a two step process:
- Complete the SIT Application for Financial Aid (PDF) and send it to the SIT Financial Aid Office.
- Complete the 2011-2012 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA):
Visit the US Department of Education's Web site for instructions to complete the form electronically. The Department of Education takes several weeks to process the form.
Review of your financial aid application will begin after you have been accepted for admission.
When completing the FAFSA you will need SIT's Title IV Institution Code:
Title IV Institution Code = 008860
Note:
Foreign income must be reported on the FAFSA regardless of your tax-filing status. Convert all amounts to US dollars.
Dates for Financial Aid:
If you are considering an SIT Graduate Institute program and wish to apply for financial aid, we recommend that you complete an application before you have been accepted for admission. A financial aid award will be calculated after you have been accepted into a program. Financial Aid decisions are made on a rolling basis.
Once you have been accepted to a graduate program, and your financial aid application has been completed, the financial aid office will review the file and notify you of the award decision by email.
