Preparation for careers helping individuals and communities reconcile intractable behaviors and create peace
Peace Corps Master's International Program
Complete SIT's practicum requirement by serving overseas in a two-year Peace Corps assignment. This unique partnership is available to students earning an SIT master's degree in Teaching, Conflict Transformation, International Education, Social Justice in Intercultural Relations, Sustainable Development, Organizational Management, or the self-designed degree in Intercultural Service, Leadership, and Management.
CONTACT - Conflict Transformation Across Cultures
A Summer Peacebuilding Institute and Graduate Certificate Program to strengthen and support the work of international peacebuilders. Participants evaluate efforts, master skills, and develop strategies for intervention.
Cypriot Youth Camps
Greek- and Turkish-Cypriot teens come to SIT to build relationships and trust by breaking down cultural barriers and deeply held misconceptions. The bicommunal dialogue program and peace camp is led by SIT faculty and by trainers from the north and south sides of the divided island.
Governor's Institute on Current Issues and Youth Activism
Forty high school students from all over Vermont come to the SIT campus every summer to meet face to face with community and state leaders, address current issues and assess how youth can respond effectively to their concerns.
International Youth Peacebuilding Camp
SIT's two-week summer peacebuilding and leadership camps bring together youth from around the world to dialogue on issues, build peer and mentor relationships, and begin a global network of youth peacebuilders.
