Associate Director of World Studies
Suzanne Belleci, MA, has taught peace and conflict studies at the Arab American University of Jenin, Palestine and master's degree courses on intercultural communications, organizational behavior, and peacebuilding at SIT Graduate Institute. She has led several workshops on interethnic understanding in post-conflict zones such as Bosnia, Kosovo, and Macedonia and has served as a facilitator in peace camps that bring together youth from global conflict zones. Suzanne co-created and co-authored a Mideast teacher training project on student-centered teaching and learning. She also worked as a project coordinator for a social justice initiative — “Grow Your Own Teachers” — that helps students in economically disadvantaged, multiethnic school districts to become teachers in the community in which they are from. Suzanne has worked for more than 20 years as a teacher and trainer in the cities of Madrid, Dijon, Lisbon, and Florence, as well as in locations in the US and the Federated States of Micronesia. She was asked to join a United Nations elections monitoring team in Sri Lanka.
Currently, Suzanne is the associate director of the World Studies Program at Marlboro College, in Marlboro, Vermont. She also works as a trainer with World Learning's Iraqi Youth Leadership Program, a State Department–funded project based in Washington, DC.
