Graduate Certificate Program
Overview
The Certificate in Conflict Transformation is a one-year, low-residency, professional development program offering 14-16 graduate credits. Through a combination of pedagogical approaches, participants develop theoretical knowledge and practical, hands-on skills needed to design and manage programs that transform conflict and promote healing and reconciliation in individuals and communities torn by violent conflict.
The 14-16 graduate credits may be applied towards a master's degree in one of the following programs at SIT Graduate Institute: Master of Art in Conflict Transformation, or Master in Intercultural Services, Leadership and Management. The program combines distance-learning courses with limited on-site meetings to minimize time away from jobs and families while maintaining an international learning community and the experiential learning pedagogy characteristic of SIT.
Concentrations
Participants chose between two concentrations: Psychosocial Foundations of Peacebuilding or Civil Society Initiatives in Peacebuilding.
