SIT and AmeriCorps*VISTA

AmeriCorps*VISTA's partnership with the SIT Graduate Institute provides individuals with the opportunity to encounter and address poverty while also educating themselves about the most effective ways to eliminate it.  SIT offers a flexible path toward receiving a valuable degree, and ultimately a new level of understanding of the policies, programs, theories, and complexities of poverty in the United States and beyond.

Master's Community Development Program

The SIT Graduate Institute is pleased to offer a collaboration that supports its mission to build leaders dedicated to creating a more peaceful and sustainable world.

The Master's Community Development Program, a collaboration between AmeriCorps*VISTA and SIT enables prospective VISTA members (US citizens 18 years or older) to earn a master's degree by applying their VISTA service toward SIT's professional practicum requirement. In addition, qualified alumni of VISTA who wish to enter an SIT master's degree program after the completion of their service are eligible for SIT scholarship incentives.

The SIT Graduate Institute is a vibrant, interactive learning environment at the vanguard of intercultural education, service, and training. Its experiential, field-based education gives graduates real-world skills and competencies that make them especially attractive to employers - including self-direction, the capacity to excel in multicultural environments, and the unique ability to develop solutions and create change.
