Diane Larsen-Freeman holds a doctorate in linguistics and has been associated with the SIT Graduate Institute faculty since 1978. She has authored articles and books on discourse analysis, English grammar, language teaching methodology, and second language acquisition research, and is series director for Grammar Dimensions, a four-level grammar series for ESL/EFL students. Diane was inducted as a fellow into the Vermont Academy of Arts and Sciences in 1997 and is the recipient of Heinle & Heinle’s Lifetime Achievement Award. In addition to her position with SIT Graduate Institute, she is director of and a professor in the English Language Institute at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. She is a former member of the national English teaching advisory board of the United States Information Agency.
