An Enduring Partnership

As two leading international training institutions, the US Peace Corps and the SIT Graduate Institute work toward a common goal - to empower all people to realize their potential.

The methods shared by both organizations—cultural immersion, experiential learning, reflection, and relationship building—have given countless participants the spirit to envision change and the tools to create it.

The SIT Graduate Institute and the Peace Corps deliver programs tailored to an increasingly complex global environment through the Master’s International Program. SIT’s professional programs in international development, organizational management, sustainable practices, conflict resolution, and language teaching give its graduates the capacity to make a true difference—whether fighting for women’s rights in Bangladesh, building community-based micro-businesses in Uganda, or helping refugees in the US participate in their communities using a second language.

  • 21 returned Peace Corps Volunteers enrolled at the SIT Graduate Institute.
  • 16 former or current Peace Corps Volunteers, staff, and trainers served on SIT’s faculty and staff.
  • 3 SIT students entered SIT’s Master’s International program, in which they will fulfill their SIT practicum requirement through Peace Corps service.
  • 5 SIT students were awarded $5,000 National Peace Corps Association scholarships recognizing their accomplishments during Peace Corps service and honoring the longstanding ties between the Peace Corps and SIT.
