CONTACT Overview
"CONTACT helped me understand the complex issues and dynamics of conflict and the way of approaching and transforming conflict peacefully. Different tools for rebuilding a broken society, steps of holding dialogue, and methods for reconciliation were some of the important lessons that I learned."

Increase your capacity to understand and implement sustainable peacebuilding programs.
Become a beacon of peace in your community and beyond.
Peacebuilders from more than 60 countries around the world have enhanced their knowledge and training in conflict transformation through SIT CONTACT programs. Designed to accommodate diverse professional and geographic needs, programs of varied duration are offered in the US, South Asia, and online. Participants undertake a powerful process of study, self-reflection, community building, and collaborative problem solving within a multicultural learning environment.
The core philosophy of the programs is embodied in one word: transformation.
We believe it is necessary to both transform the unjust institutions that are a partial cause of armed conflict, and transform ourselves as agents of change and builders of peace. That is why SIT prefers the term conflict transformation to the terms conflict management or post-conflict resolution.
