Juan Armando Diaz has a Ph.D. in International Relations from the University of Kent. He lectures on theories and practice of Negotiation and Mediation at the University of Kent (Brussels), European School of Public Policy (Erfurt), and the Hertie School of Governance (Berlin). He is also one of the founders of CSSProject for Integrative mediation, a non-profit organization working in divided communities in South Eastern Europe. He has developed training courses and seminars in problem-solving negotiations for international institutions and NGOs.
From 1998 to 2004 Dr. Diaz worked for the Office of the International Mediator for Bosnia and Herzegovina in different functions. He has been invited to speak at international conferences and to train in mediation in Belgium, Germany, Kosovo, Macedonia, Serbia, Sri Lanka, Vietnam and USA. He is registered as Mediator by the German Federal Association of Mediation (Bundesverband Mediation e.V.) and a member of the International Association for Conflict Management.
